Laboratory Sales & Technical Representative
Focus: Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, & Microbiology
Location: Belize (Covering District Hospitals & Private Clinics)
Role Summary
We are seeking a bi- lingual Laboratory Sales & Technical Representative to manage and grow our diagnostic brand portfolios across Belize. This role is responsible for the “full circle” of laboratory support: from helping a lab select the right analyzer to ensuring they never run out of reagents and controls. You will be the primary link between international brands and the local technicians and pathologists who rely on them for patient results.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Placement: Identify clinics and hospitals in need of upgrading their machines (Hematology, Chemistry, etc.) and present the best brand options.
- Reagent Management: Monitor customer “burn rates” to ensure they always have enough consumables (reagents, strips, and slides) to avoid testing downtime.
- On-Site Support: Perform basic “first-fix” troubleshooting on machines when they flag errors before calling in a Senior Engineer.
- Training & Demos: Conduct “Lunch & Learn” sessions or on-site training for Medical Technologists on how to properly run and maintain new equipment.
- Tender Support: Assist in preparing technical documentation for laboratory quotes.
- Sales Support: Generate quotes, follow up on leads, and assist the field sales team in closing deals.
- Order Management: Oversee the end-to-end order process, ensuring accuracy in the ERP system and providing customers with shipping updates.
- Problem Solving: Address post-sale issues, including equipment malfunctions, shipping discrepancies, or technical questions, ensuring minimal downtime for the client’s lab.
- Account Growth: Identify opportunities to transition one-time buyers into recurring consumable contract customers.
What we are looking for:
- Bi Lingual
- 3 years experience in industry and Belize Health Care System
- Bachelors Degree in Medical Lab Technology
- Must be based in Belize City or able to travel to Belize City Daily (Company Transportation Available from Orange Walk)
- Must have a Valid Drivers License
- Ability to explain technical machine errors in English and Spanish.
